Children with Special Health Care Needs:

Do you have concerns about your child's health?  Do you suspect or have you been told that your child, or a child you work with, has a health related condition?  the CSHCN Program works to support children with special health care needs and their families.

La Crosse County Public Health Nursing is dedicated to meeting families’ needs through a statewide coordinated system of information, referral and follow-up, parent to parent support, and service coordination.

Birth to 3 Logo - small

Children do different things at different ages. Some babies sit without support at six months while others need help until they're nine months old. Some toddlers start talking when they're a year old. Others might take longer to say their first words.

Birth to 3 is Wisconsin’s early intervention program for infants and toddlers with developmental delays and disabilities and their families. A federal law, the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), provides a framework for a comprehensive program and coordinates developmental, health and social services within the community.

If you're worried about the way your baby or toddler is developing, don't wait!   The years from birth to age three are so important.  Talk with your child's doctor about your concerns or give us a call at (608) 784-8125.  You can also use the links below to find contact information for the Birth to 3 Program in La Crosse County.  Or call Wisconsin First Step: 1-800-642-7837.
