Over the next couple of years, our Downtown Campus will be undergoing some major changes, as we have tried to minimize our footprint on downtown and maximize the potential for new development. The changes have three main components:
We have purchased a building on the corner of 7th and State Street (currently Associated Bank), which will be renovated into County administrative offices (targeting move in by December 2016);
We have sold our existing Administrative Center to Stizo Development, which will be converted into student housing to primarily serve Western Technical College, after we vacate the building (targeting completion of renovations by August 2017);
We have sold the full block that was County Parking Lot C to Weber Holdings, and that block is now under construction to build a high-density, mixed-use development that will also be the new home for Associated Bank.
More details on the various components are included below:
The links below will provide further information on progress on the new space for departments currently located in the County Administrative Center.
Before purchasing the Associated Bank building to convert into new administrative offices, the County completed a space needs analysis and studied various options. The links below will provide further information from that process.
Weber Holdings is currently transforming this block from a surface parking lot into a high-density, mixed-use development, that will include the future home of Associated Bank. The links below will provide further information on their plans and progress.
Stizo Development will be converting the current County Administrative Center building into privately owned student housing, once the County vacates the building. The link below will provide further information on their plans.
